Christmas Party
We had lots of fun at our annual Christmas party. The vintage cars and the bouncy castle were very popular.
Christmas Concert and Prizegiving
It was wonderful to see so many of our students receiving trophies and certificates for the effort they have put in this year.

Our Beautiful New Playground
The students have been enjoying our new playground at Base School for the last couple of weeks. There are so many exciting things to explore and do.

Nonu Visits Base Juniors
We always love it when Nonu the Newfoundland Therapy Dog comes to visit. We try and invite him in once a term.

After some not very pleasant weather, Friday 7th April was a beautiful day to celebrate the opening of our new buildings at Base School.
"Be Bright, Eat Right" Magic Show
On Monday 27th February we went to a wonderful show with a magician, who presented a programme about eating healthy food. The students were captivated by his performance.
Bags for Good in the Neighbourhood
From 1 February until 31 July, Kowhai Special School is one of the community organisations featured in the Hastings Warehouse "Bags for Good in the Neighbourhood" initiative.

On Friday 14th October many classes from Kowhai School participated in the Hastings Polyfest, held at Flaxmere Primary School.

PAMPER EVENING
Thursday 15th September was the night for our annual Pamper evening. 36 women came to be pampered with massages, pretty nails and crafts, as well as good food and conversation.
Nonu the Therapy Dog
On Friday, Nonu the Therapy Dog visited the classes at Base School. He is a two year old Himalayan Mountain Dog. His owner, Gerry, has two Himalayan Mountain Dogs.
